Brij Madan is a highly experienced business development professional with core skills in market research and business analysis. He attended the London School of Economics (“LSE”) for his undergraduate diploma, followed by an MBA at the Graduate Business School at Columbia University, New York.
His early work experience was with boutique firms in a thriving European consulting environment, including the business research unit of the famed British political economy magazine “The Economist”. From the London hub, he managed global consulting projects serving blue chip clients in the industrial, vehicular, machinery and related industries, in particular leading a pioneering effort to quantify the diesel engine market in every country, resulting in the development of a world-wide industry database. Using this knowledge, a consortium in which he participated executed a Leveraged Buy-out acquisition of a leading diesel engine camshaft manufacturer—that was profitably divested a few years later.
Following on the credentials of this unique combination of analytical and practical experience, he worked in Business development at Racor Industries, a world leader in specialty diesel fuel filtration. Brij executed a number of product-line acquisitions to add external earnings and presented the company for divestiture to various parties—the firm was eventually acquired by Parker Hannifin Corporation (NYSE:PH).
Brij carried out numerous strategic and business assignments in his area of expertise in global transportation and industrial market segments. His wide global experience has ranged from extensive strategic market analysis to M & A buy-side work for corporate “bolt-on” acquisitions, as well as sell-side assistance to owners of mid-market companies divesting to large corporations.
Brij serves as a Director on the board of a number of small and mid-size companies, where his services are valued as a Finance, Strategy, Market Planning and M & A adviser.
